Ladies Kennel Association's Championship Show on 11th December 2011 and is now
CHAMPION DIOTIMA'S HEART OF GOLD.

Riley won his fourth Challenge Certificate at the Bearded Collie Club
of Scotland's Championship Show on 1st October 2011,
judge Yvonne Fox (Bushblades)). He then went on to
Reserve Best In Show and Best Opposite Sex.
He has an outstanding record at Club Championship Shows this year.
Riley was Reserve BIS at the Eastern Bearded Collie Association's
Championship Show, BIS at the Midshires Bearded Collie Club's
Championship Show and Open Show and now Reserve BIS
at the Bearded Collie Club of Scotland's Championship Show.
As always Riley was shown and beautifully presented by his
owner Debbie Glasspool (Gildenmede).

We are thrilled and proud to announce that
Riley gained his title today, 3rd September 2011,
handled as usual by his mum, owner and handler
Debbie Glasspool (Gildenmede Beardies). Riley won
the dog CC and BOB under respected allrounder judge
Miss Jean Lanning who has been judging Beardies for over 40 years.
Riley did his family and breed proud in the Pastoral Group,
being shortlisted in the final cut of 8 breeds.
What a day and what wonderful memories!

Ch Brenriga Gift Wrapped For Diotima)
Following a six month break from agility
while she raised a beautiful litter
of 8 pups, Kiri has returned to her first love.
All three of her runs today were clear. In the first two runs
(136 and 157 entries) Kiri was just outside the placings
but in the third run she achieved 13th place being one of
only 15 entrants out of 163 to achieve a clear round.
This amazing little girl continues to delight her mum Tami
who has worked so hard this year helping Kiri raise her pups.
We are very very proud of Kiri and Tami and all they have achieved.
We would just like to say "well done" and "thank you"
to Debbie and Tami for bringing out all that is wonderful in their Beardies
and for giving Riley and Kiri such wonderful loving homes.

Riley won limit dog at National Working and Pastoral Breeds
Championship Show, judge Denise Atkins (Labooshar).
This was his TENTH win in limit and he now joins the big guns in Open.
He and Debbie make us very proud.
We were delighted to have the opportunity to
show Zach again in the UK and pleased when he
was placed 4th in a strong open dog class. His
daughter, Hermine, was placed second in Puppy bitch
and his "wife" Paula was second in veteran. Zach and his
family were holidaying in the UK with his
mum and dad, Helga and Wilhelm Schlabes
of Midlands-Corner Beardies in Germany.

Riley won his class at Blackpool and Windsor Championship shows.
This amazingly consistent dog has now won 9 limit classes in 2011,
one Challenge Certificate and four reserve Challenge Certificates.

"Glasspool’s Diotima From The Heart For Gildenmede,
3 year old eye catching very dark slate boy who cannot be overlooked,
gorgeous head and expressive dark eyes, excellent pigment,
good layback and upper arm angulation, pleasing length of back,
strongly muscled rear, moved out well,
excellent presentation and handling.
In strong contention for top honours."

Canine Association, judge Ann Andrews (Hecatie),
and went on to win the Reserve Dog CC, his 6th.

to second place in Limit Bitch.

The babies chose to make their arrival into the world on
Tami's (their breeder, Brenriga) birthday, 8th April 2011.
Spring has well and truly sprung and
everything's coming up puppies!!

What a day we had in Scotland! Riley won Limit Dog and the Reserve CC,
superbly handled as usual by his owner, Debbie Glasspool (Gildenmede).
Then little sister Zeeva won Limit Bitch, the CC and BOB!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you to judge Wendy Hines, Ramsgrove, for these wonderful wins
and making this a day to remember. Zeeva was beautifully handled,
as usual, by her co-owner and other dad, David Hyde (Natterjack).
It was also lovely to see Tolly's son Arnie,
Ch. Ciopar Flash Fisichella, win the dog CC and BOS,
and his son and daughter win best puppy dog and bitch.
What a day for the family!

Zeeva (Diotima's Heart Of Gold) and David at Crufts in the challenge
after winning Mid Limit Bitch. We were very proud when
Zeeva made the final cut of four lovely bitches for
the Challenge Certificate.
We were delighted to see Zeeva show so well at Crufts and really enjoy
her day. Zeeva is co-owned with David Hyde (Natterjack Beardies).
Congratulations too to Riley and Debbie who
placed 3rd in Mid Limit Dog.

Our granddaughters, Lauren (left) and Caitlin (right) were pleased to see

Penny has lived for the past 15 years in
Pennsylvania, USA with Bren and Greg Wantland
(Hillside Beardies).
All Beardies are characters but to say that
Penny was a "character" is probably a huge
understatement.
She ruled the doggie roost over all Hillside Beardies and
relished her role as Matriarch of the family.
In 2004, unbeknown to Bren and Greg, Penny "helped herself" to
an uninitiated Harvey when she was, let's say, not in the first
flush of her youth! Nine weeks later she whelped ten puppies!!
Pen obviously knew a thing or two because in this,
her final litter, she produced two champions, one,
Pocket (Ch Hillside Spirit of Christmas) won the ultimate award,
Best Of Breed at the 2009 National Specialty.
Penny lived fifteen and a half happy years
and we send our love to Bren, Greg and Jess
who made her long life so wonderful.
We will miss you, dear Pennster.
